Legal document templates without folder chaos

How to keep contract, claim, and letter templates organized so the team uses current versions.

Templates save time only when the team trusts that they are current. If a folder contains files named “final”, “final2”, and “new final”, automation starts too late.

Working rules

  • assign an owner and last review date to each template;
  • separate text blocks, party details, and procedural variants;
  • keep the change history next to the template;
  • remove outdated files from the working folder.

A good template should not become a builder for its own sake. It covers the repetitive part of the document and leaves room for legal reasoning and facts.
