LMPM PDF Viewer

LMPM PDF Viewer — legal ballot review directly in PDF.

Open a scanned protocol or a stack of ballots and work with them like a register: mark signatures, dates, powers of attorney, record a verdict for each sheet, and export a ready-made report. No printing, no paper checkmarks, no Excel side tables.

Platforms: macOS (primary) and iOS.

Why this app

When counsel receives ballot scans (often one large PDF with hundreds of pages), the usual workflow is to print, annotate by hand, or keep an Excel table next to a viewer. It is slow, error-prone, and hard to re-check quickly.

LMPM PDF Viewer targets exactly that: one PDF — one linked analysis file stored alongside it and reopened automatically next time.

What’s inside

  • Full PDF viewing with page navigation, jump-to-page, and text search (highlighted hits with next/previous).
  • A ballot register — a side list where each entry is tied to a PDF page. One click takes you to the right sheet.
  • Quick add: select a person’s name or company in the PDF, tap Add — the ballot title and page are filled in automatically.
  • Per-ballot checklist: date present; date within the voting period; signature present; signed by representative; power of attorney attached; free-form notes.
  • Three review states: In progress, Verified — OK, Verified — defects, with colour cues.
  • Filtering and sorting: show defective, clean, or unchecked ballots; sort by name or page number.
  • Date distribution chart — see how ballots spread over time and how many have defects.
  • Export to TXT (readable report) and CSV (for Excel/Numbers/Google Sheets).
  • Auto-save — every change is written instantly to a JSON analysis file next to the PDF; no manual save.
  • Session memory — remembers the last PDF and analysis and offers to resume.
  • iPad/iPhone build — for those who prefer reviewing on a tablet.

How data is stored

Next to the source PDF, a file named <name>_analysis.json holds the full register and review results. That means:

  • data is not locked inside the app — easy to hand off with the PDF;
  • nothing goes to the cloud — everything stays local under your control;
  • one PDF always pairs with one analysis file.

Who it’s for

  • Lawyers supporting OSS meetings, horticultural partnerships, HOAs, housing companies.
  • In-house counsel and corporate secretaries for shareholder and LLC meetings.
  • Scrutineers and auditors checking ballot validity.
  • Counsel preparing positions to challenge meeting outcomes.

Key benefits

  • One screen instead of three — PDF, register, and checklist together; no juggling Reader, Excel, and notes.
  • No retyping — ballot titles come from PDF selection; pages are tracked automatically.
  • Objective reports in minutes — TXT/CSV exports with statuses and defects.
  • Privacy-first — all data stays locally next to the PDF; no cloud or third-party servers.
  • Native performance — SwiftUI + PDFKit; stays responsive on large documents.
  • Mac and iOS — start on a Mac, continue on an iPad.
